Where Verizon Fios and 5G Home are offered

Fios metros are a short list

Verizon's home-internet locations page, checked September 23, 2026, says Fios is currently available in the metro areas below. The state buttons in that Fios section are Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, DC. City links in that Fios material include places such as Boston, New York, Long Island, Albany, Buffalo, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Norfolk, Richmond and Washington, DC. The page also says Fios is a fiber-optic network for homes in the mid-Atlantic and New England, and that residents there can use an availability checker.

A checker result, including anything organized by ZIP, is still not a statement that a particular unit can be installed. Multiunit buildings and unbuilt streets fail for reasons a ZIP cannot see. The page itself tells you to check availability for the home.

5G Home is a different list and a different network

The next heading says 5G Home Internet is currently available in more locations, and its state examples include Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia and Washington. Ohio cities on that 5G section include Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. The page also says 5G internet service was available in more than 14,000 cities nationwide as of 2025, and that the on-page list is not every town.

The 5G Home FAQ says this service is wireless, delivered to a Verizon router, and that speeds vary with the cellular network. It tells you to enter an address to see whether Verizon Home Internet (Wireless) or Fios Home Internet is available. The wireless family in that FAQ includes 5G Home, LTE Home, Verizon Home Internet Lite and Wi-Fi Backup. New LTE Home sign-ups are no longer available. Those wireless products are not Fios, and they are not one plan with four names.

Frontier fiber is not the historic Fios map

The same availability page says Frontier is now a Verizon company and describes an expanded reach of almost 30 million fiber passings across 31 states and Washington, DC, by combining Frontier's fiber network with Fios and mobility. It also says current 5G Home and LTE Home customers do not need to act, and that Frontier fiber may be available at an address. The 31-state figure is this integration story. It is not a rewrite that puts classic Fios in every one of those states.

If an address is offered Frontier fiber, Fios, or 5G Home, keep the product name from the offer. Do not relabel it to match a headline you prefer.

• Look at the Fios state list and the 5G Home state list separately.
• Check the address and write down the product name.
• If the product is wireless, read the wireless FAQ, not a Fios speed table.
• If the product is fiber, confirm whether it is Fios or Frontier fiber.

What the lists are good for

They tell you which product is even plausible. Ohio is on the 5G Home section and not on the Fios state buttons, so an Ohio Fios assumption is not supported by this page. New York and New Jersey appear on both sections, so either product might qualify and you still have to check. The FCC map can show reported fixed service at a location, including fiber and wireless technologies, without becoming an order.

Illustration only: a Cleveland address qualifies for 5G Home and does not show Fios. That fits the two lists. It is not evidence that Fios failed in Ohio, because Fios was not the product the Fios list claimed there.
