Is Verizon Fios available in Ohio?

Can every home in Cleveland, Columbus or Cincinnati get 5G Home?

Verizon 5G Home Internet in Ohio

In Ohio, Verizon's availability page supports a 5G Home conversation, not a Fios one. 5G Home is wireless and still requires an address check.

Ohio is a clean example of Verizon's product split. The Fios state buttons do not include Ohio. The 5G Home section does, and it names Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. If you wanted fiber under the Fios name, this page does not say Ohio is where that product is listed.

Ohio is published under 5G Home

In the section headed as 5G Home locations, Verizon lists Ohio and the cities Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus. The page says 5G Home is in more places than the examples and cites more than 14,000 cities nationwide as of 2025. Being an example city means Verizon is willing to show that city under 5G Home. It does not mean every address in the city qualifies, and it does not mean cities left off the examples are automatically excluded.

The FAQ says 5G Home brings the wireless network into the home and that you should enter an address. It also says a clear path to the cell site can matter, so homes on one block can differ.

Do not call this Fios

Fios on the same page is the fiber list for Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia and Washington, DC. Ohio is not in that button row. Frontier's broader fiber-passings sentence is a different paragraph about integrating Frontier. Do not relabel an Ohio 5G Home offer as Fios, and do not assume Frontier fiber is at an Ohio address because the passings number is large.

Other wireless names in the FAQ, including LTE Home, Home Internet Lite and Wi-Fi Backup, are not Fios either. New LTE Home sign-ups are closed. Read the name on the Ohio offer.

Check the Ohio address specifically for 5G Home or other wireless home internet.
Do not start from a Fios tier table unless the result says Fios.
Test the gateway where it will sit, at the hours you use it, if you are comparing it with a wired line.
Keep any working wired service until the wireless trial meets the household's needs.

Ohio has other wired brands that are not Verizon

Kinetic publishes an Ohio fiber community list, including places such as Akron, Elyria and Newark. That is Kinetic Fiber, not Verizon. WOW!'s about page does not list Ohio. Optimum's state directory does include Ohio, and Optimum separately warns that fiber and cable are different. None of those facts is a 5G Home qualification.

A household can check more than one brand. Each check stands on its own.

What an Ohio 5G result can and cannot mean

A qualified 5G Home offer is a wireless plan with the label's speeds, equipment and limits. An unqualified address in Cleveland, Columbus or Cincinnati does not erase the city from Verizon's example list, and the example list does not create service. The FCC map's fixed-wireless reporting, if present, is still a report.

Illustration only: Columbus, Ohio shows a 5G Home offer at one house and no offer at the next. That is allowed by Verizon's own same-block warning. It is also unrelated to WOW! in Columbus, Georgia, which is a different company and a different state.
