Why a ZIP result is only the beginning
A ZIP can help you find providers to investigate. Only an exact-address check can establish the next shopping step for your building or unit. Two neighbors may have different options. A map result, sales offer and confirmed installation each answer a different question.
Three levels of evidence

What our ZIP explorer uses
Our current estimate is derived from the FCC Broadband Data Collection June 2025 filing through a portfolio area mapping, exported August 6, 2026. It can be useful for narrowing a search, but it is not a live feed. A listing may be too broad for your street, and a newer build may be missing.
A building and apartment checklist
- Use the street number, complete street name and unit exactly as the provider expects.
- Ask whether the offer is for your unit, not just the building.
- If renting, check whether building access, drilling or a new line needs permission.
- Confirm whether installation is self-service or requires a technician, and whether equipment must be delivered first.
- Ask for the quoted recurring and one-time charges, and save the order confirmation and appointment details.

When the answers disagree
Save the dated map result and the provider response. Recheck the exact unit and ask the provider to explain the discrepancy. The FCC provides a process to challenge provider-reported availability; it is separate from placing an order or complaining about the speed of an existing service.
