Is Verizon Fios available at your Massachusetts address?
Only Verizon's check of your street address can tell you. Verizon lists three Massachusetts areas for Fios (Boston, the South Shore and Taunton), and its FCC filing puts nearly all of its fiber in the eastern half of the state while the four western counties are almost entirely wireless. Statewide, Verizon reports some service at 72% of residential units, so start with your own address before you read the county detail.
In Hampden County, which includes Springfield, Verizon's Dec 2025 filing shows 51 fiber and 64,349 wireless locations, so a western address is more likely to see wireless than Fios. The filing shows wireless and no fiber in 3 Massachusetts counties.

Boston
Inside Boston, Fios is the newer arrival. Verizon's Boston page says its fiber is well established in the inner-ring suburbs and has been expanding within the city limits since 2016. Fiber from any provider now reaches 70.2% of the city's residential units, and Verizon reports service at 91.7%.
Middlesex County holds 319,485 Verizon fiber locations, more than any other county in the state. The same Verizon page also names Northborough, Southborough and Shrewsbury. To see the other companies, compare every provider in Boston.

South Shore
Verizon does not draw a boundary for the South Shore, so we use the two counties it spans as a stand-in. Verizon files 126,305 fiber locations in Plymouth County and 151,393 in Norfolk County.

Taunton
Taunton stands out in a county that has little fiber. Fiber from any provider reaches 90.1% of Taunton's homes, against 28.8% across Bristol County as a whole. Verizon reports service at 94% of the city's units. Compare every provider in Taunton before you pick one.

Cape Cod
Cape Cod is not on Verizon's Fios list, and its filing there is mostly wireless. In Barnstable County, which covers the Cape, Verizon files 5,850 fiber locations and 56,060 wireless. Fiber from any provider reaches 3.8% of the county's homes, while Verizon reports some service at 42.7%. On the islands, Dukes and Nantucket counties, Verizon files no fiber at all.
