Across Kinetic's 18 states, the FCC map shows slightly more Kinetic DSL than Kinetic fiber. Kinetic's own fiber list also names towns where the map shows none.

Where does Kinetic offer home internet?
Kinetic location counts below are reported residential or mixed-use service locations. They are not household, subscriber or active-line counts; use a full-address check for a current offer.
Kinetic, formerly Windstream, reports fiber at 1,443,620 locations across the 18 states where it lists service (FCC National Broadband Map, data as of Dec 31, 2025). It reports DSL with no fiber at 1,490,871 locations more. Georgia, Kentucky and Texas have the most Kinetic fiber. Minnesota has almost none.
Its 18 state pages name 3,937 communities and list 1,359 of them for fiber (checked Oct 27, 2026).

How to read a Kinetic address result
- Find your state in the table and open its guide. It shows whether your town is on Kinetic's fiber list and what the FCC map shows there.
- Run the address check. The result names the product: a fiber tier, DSL, cable or fixed wireless.
- If it names DSL, compare it with the other providers the FCC reports at your address.
- Keep your current service until a Kinetic fiber install is working. Uniti's backbone passing through a town does not mean a fiber line runs to your home.

Common questions
Is Kinetic the same company as Windstream?
Yes. Kinetic's about page says the company was formerly Windstream Communications. It formed in 2006, when Alltel spun off its landline business and merged it with VALOR Communications Group. In the FCC's provider list, Kinetic's filings sit under Uniti Group Inc.
Does Kinetic still sell DSL?
Yes. Kinetic reports DSL and no fiber at 1,490,871 locations in its 18 states, a little more than the 1,443,620 with Kinetic fiber (FCC data as of Dec 31, 2025). Georgia has the most Kinetic DSL. Kinetic's Pennsylvania DSL-only locations have the lowest median advertised download, at 10 megabits.
How fast is Kinetic Fiber?
Kinetic's fiber page lists tiers from 100 megabits up to 2 Gig, with matching upload and download (checked Oct 27, 2026). In the FCC data, 86.4% of Kinetic fiber locations are reported at two gigabits or more (data as of Dec 31, 2025).
Why doesn't Kinetic's own fiber count match the FCC map?
Kinetic's own figures and the FCC map count different things on different dates. Kinetic says it serves more than 1.9 million households as a fiber provider. It also says it passed more than 2 million fiber premises by mid-2026. The FCC map counts Kinetic fiber at 1,443,620 locations in its 18 states, residential and mixed-use locations, as of Dec 31, 2025.
Which states have the most Kinetic fiber?
By FCC-reported fiber locations, Georgia (254,011), Kentucky (209,857) and Texas (173,506) have the most Kinetic fiber, as of Dec 31, 2025. By the length of Kinetic's own fiber list, Pennsylvania comes first. Minnesota has the least Kinetic fiber on both counts, with 660 locations in the FCC data, and Mississippi has 1,945.
