Optimum is the consumer brand. Its website identifies Altice as the parent organization and points to alticeusa.com. The shopping question is narrower than the parent company: which Optimum access technology, if any, qualifies at one address.

A 21-state company is not nationwide cable

Optimum's about page, checked September 23, 2026, says it serves approximately 4.4 million customers across 21 states with internet, TV, phone and mobile, while it builds fiber. The locations directory tells you to pick a state and lists Arizona, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. That is a regional list. It is not a claim that Optimum cable or Optimum fiber is available in every state.

Mobile service marketed with Optimum can ride a nationwide wireless network. That mobile product is not home cable and not home fiber. Do not let a mobile coverage sentence stand in for a home-internet install.

Optimum fiber and Optimum cable are different

Optimum's fiber page says 8 Gig fiber is currently available in portions of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. It also says fiber internet is not available in all areas, and that in some areas internet is delivered over a cable network with different speeds. A state in the directory can therefore contain fiber addresses, cable addresses, and addresses with no Optimum home internet.

Compare the technology the address check returns. A cable upload figure and a fiber upload figure are not interchangeable, even under the same brand.

Confirm the state is on the Optimum locations directory.
Run the address check and save fiber versus cable.
Read the Broadband Facts label for that exact product.
Ignore a national 'cable everywhere' assumption; Optimum does not publish one.

Customer counts and fiber builds answer different questions

The about page's customer count includes the services it lists, not a count of homes that can order 8 Gig fiber. The same page says Optimum is building a 100 percent fiber internet network to more homes. A build in progress is not service at your unit today.

New Jersey, New York and Connecticut are the states named in the 8 Gig footnote and they each have a state page. Other directory states still need their own address check, and a listing there does not inherit the 8 Gig footnote.

How to shop the footprint

Use the state page to learn that Optimum wants you to check that state. Use checkout to learn whether you can order, and whether the network is fiber or cable. Promotional prices, AutoPay conditions and gift-card language on Optimum pages are offer-specific. Copy them only from the address-qualified summary.
